The joseki exercise paper was printed from internet, and it is from Cho Chikun’s Life and Death Encyclopedia.

Doing life and death

Recently ive been spending 3 hours to solve life and death problems, 1 hour practicing joseki and inventing new joseki and skills, 4 hours playing online in kgs. so basicly ive made go  as major thing in my daily life and routine..

New invented joseki

I ve invented this new joseki, but roughly, most people in kgs said this on is one sided joseki.. and one of them even said, if a pro player have a look on this joseki, the first sentence from them will be,

“poor white”… (=.=) 

Thats ok, i know ill be criticized for sure just because i am weak..But at least ive tried to invent something and as a result, i m now noticed my flaw and my problems….As a result,

I came up with a brand new one which makes most of them feel that its somehow looks much better..  =)

Game with Dragon4896

This is my first game against Dragon4896, a player who has same strength as mine. He was using black while i was using white. As u can see, the end game was a resignation by black which last move (180) was c5 or 3-5. his last sentance was, “resign is the only way”.

I should say this is a good game to review which it has many tesujis and some sorta good variation from both players. Move 180(last moce) is a forcing move for black to move, sente.

Petrol, Diesel Prices Down 10 Sen A Litre From Tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 2 (Bernama) — The pump price of petrol and diesel has been lowered by 10 sen a litre from Wednesday, the sixth downward revision in fuel prices since August. The last revision was on Nov 18.

In announcing the reduction Tuesday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said the government decided to speed up the lower retail price of petrol and diesel to enable the people to enjoy cheaper fuel prices following the sharp drop in global oil prices.

The RON97 petrol will be sold at RM1.90 a litre from RM2 while RON92 at RM1.80 a litre from RM1.90, he said in a statement today.

Diesel will be retailed at RM1.80 from RM1.90 a litre currently.

So, its like this.. Black 1 played komoku as staring and then White approached at 5-3. The small knight move is the basic approach move to the 3-4 point stone. It has been continually used for over four centuries. There are limitless variations, with new moves constantly being discovered.

White 2 opens the door to a treasure store of joseki..

So, Black responded “The two-space high pincer”,most common one. This pincer typifies modern Go, as it maintains balance between territory and influence, offers a plethora of options, and has few weaknesses.

Lets see the usual response for Black 3, and the result!

GO

Go is a strategic board game for two players. It is known as wéiqí in Chinese (Traditional: 圍棋; Simplified: 围棋), igo (囲碁, igo^?) or go (碁, go^?) in Japanese, and baduk in Korean (hangul: 바둑). To differentiate it from the common English verb to go, it is sometimes capitalized. An alternate spelling is also used occasionally.

Go originated in China, where it has been played for more than 2500 years. It is most popular in East Asia, but has gained some popularity in the rest of the world in recent years. Go is noted for being rich in strategic complexity despite its simple rules.

Go is played by two players who alternately place black and white stones on the vacant intersections of a grid of 19×19 lines. For faster games or teaching purposes, a smaller grid, such as 13×13 lines or 9×9 lines, can be used. The object of the game is to control a larger part of the board than the opponent. To achieve this, players strive to place their stones in such a way that they cannot be captured, while mapping out territories the opponent cannot invade without being captured. A stone or a group of stones is captured and removed if it has no empty adjacent intersections, the result of being completely surrounded by stones of the opposing color. The adjacent intersections of a stone or group are known as “liberties”.

Placing stones close together helps them support each other and avoid capture. On the other hand, placing stones far apart creates influence across more of the board. Part of the strategic difficulty of the game stems from finding a balance between such conflicting interests. Players strive to serve both defensive and offensive purposes and choose between tactical urgency and strategic plans. The game ends, and the score is counted, when both players consecutively pass on a turn, indicating that neither side can make a play to increase its territory or reduce its opponent’s.

Despite the fact that Go originated in ancient China, it is commonly known in the West by its Japanese name, go. This stems from the fact that early Western players learned of the game from Japanese sources. As a result, many Go concepts for which there is no ready English equivalent have become known elsewhere by their Japanese names. The Japanese name igo is linked to the Japanese reading of its Chinese name wéiqí, which roughly translates as “board game of surrounding”.

Plot Summary

Aoba Riku has just transferred to a new high school because of his father`s job, and things aren`t quite what he expected. The headmaster`s secretary controls the school while espousing the virtues of academic freedom, the teachers are even stranger than normal teachers, and half the student body is walking around with animal ears on. On his very first day, Riku is unfortunate enough to find himself at the center of the student council`s latest event, which has him running for his life.
